 COMPUTERS

If you sell online or want to, knowing and understanding the advantageous and importance of an effective marketing system is critical. Armed with this knowledge will provide you with the means to identify a system that will help you promote your business and close more sales.

First and foremost, your ecommerce shopping cart should come loaded with the following tools:

1. Autoresponder;
2. Affiliate System;
3. Shopping Cart;
4. Ad Tracking;
5. Statistics;
6. Product Management;
7. Payment Processing

You will cut your business and yourself short getting something that doesn't come with these included. The good thing is that most systems being released today do come loaded with these standard services. The bad news is that the cost can vary.

A lot of the shopping cart systems are hosted on the ecommerce servers. Essentially, you simply subscribed to them. The cost can get high. For instance, I used one of the most popular hosted systems available, but the cost became unbearable. The more successful I became the more system requirements I needed, and they charge a premium for this.

I decided that there had to be a more cost effective way to handle my business and after extensive research I found systems that could be installed on my own website that offered all of the bells and whistles I was looking for.

The downside is getting it installed, especially if you are not technically inclined. Although, these systems are less complicated today and most of them offer additional help installing it for you.

The question you need to ask yourself...Would you rather pay a yearly fee of $1000.00 or a one time fee of $200 for the same functionality?

Overall, if everything is equal, then I would rather pay the lessor amount, have the same functionality,and not be charged for continued business growth. Your profit margins will thank you for this decision.
